Today there are 418 Unengaged, Unreached People Groups with populations more than 40,000 who are still beyond the reach of the gospel of Jesus Christ. These nearly 130,401,741 people are spiritually lost and helpless, like sheep having no Shepherd. Among them Christ remains unknown, unacknowledged, and unadored.
These 418 are perhaps the neediest of the needy. They areunengaged, which means that no one church, no one mission agency... no one has yet taken responsibility to tell them of our great God and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The 418 are at the very heart of the unfinished Great Commission task. Can one church actually make a difference among the 418 unengaged, unreached peoples of the world?
With the enabling of the One true living, all-powerful God, one church can make a difference. Will you be one of the ones?
Burma is one of those nations.
The Burmese troops on Feb 12 killed and tortured civilians and destroyed churches and even entire villages of the predominantly Christian Kachin minority despite pledges from Burma's nominally civilian government that it seeks ceasefire agreements with ethnic groups. In a report obtained by BosNewsLife, rights group Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) said it recorded "grave human rights abuses" during a three week visit to the Rangoon and Kachin State on the China-Burma border.
The report was released Sunday, February 12, as Burma marks the 65th anniversary of the Panglong Agreement in which Burma's government pledged, for instance, "full autonomy in internal administration for the frontier areas" in principle, including the creation of a Kachin State by the Constituent Assembly.
As Burma, also known as Myanmar, began observing the agreement with what is known as "Union Day", CSW cautioned that while “a window of opportunity for change…after decades of oppression and conflict may have now opened," the situation in Kachin and northern Shan States illustrate that "there is still a very long way to go".
We can change this. How? Praying. Going. Supporting those who are there. If you want to know how, contact us and we can tell you how.
Blessings in Him.
